Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) use magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the areas of your brain affected by your mental health condition. The strength of the magnetic field is similar to that produced by a MRI machine. Commonly reported side effects include treatment site sensitivity and headache. Unlike medications, TMS does not cause weight gain, sexual dysfunction, dry mouth, insomnia, or nausea.
